It could happen to you

Have you seen the movie Baby Mama (also in the movie trailer) where a mom asks her kid, who appears covered in a mud like substance, if it is chocolate or poop? She then proceeds to taste it declaring "chocolate!" The other adult in the scene asks "what if it was poop?" Today was sort of one of those days ...

Marin hasn't had a full fledged blow out in a while, but late this afternoon he did. MaLeah and I, being the semi experienced parents that we are, immediately went into tag team mode to minimize the damage. Clothes were removed in the appropriate fashion to limit the spread. A quick back check assessment was completed. I held Marin's feet to prevent him kicking himself in the brown eye while MaLeah readied the supplies. The challenge is that even with two people there just aren't enough hands when someone is up to their shoulder blades in poop.

It was like slow motion. I could see what was going to happen before it happened and I knew it was going to happen so fast I wouldn't even be able to say anything before it did. I think MaLeah sensed it too, because she looked up from her preparations just in time to see Marin reach with both hands behind his back and grab two handfuls of fecal matter. He then proceeded to put his hands in his mouth.

I've always wondered what kind of delinquent parents could allow their child to eat poop ... literally put the stuff in their mouth. Well, now I know.

The clean up on aisle three proceeded hastily as we tried to come to grips with what just went down. Marin's hands were still covered, so he added some bonus stripes to his cheek, chest, and generally any exposed skin ... which at this point he was only in a diaper. Somehow we managed to get him clean enough to carry to the tub for a level four decontamination. As the emergency subsided, MaLeah remarked how the same kid that was gagging on peas earlier in the day was giddy during his latest gestational intake.

No, that isn't poop. It is a chocolate "no bake" cookie that I ate while writing this post. I just wanted to provide a visual reference.
